Learn and teach Figma in Figma

GuidesLab is a plugin for Figma in which you can learn design and Figma from other community members. You can also share your Figma knowledge by submitting your guides.

The story...

One year ago, when I released Figmaster, I wasn’t expecting so many students to enroll in the course. I thought that the idea of reading and doing step-by-step guides in Figma wouldn’t work.

I was wrong.

Over 700 students joined the course, the product got to the top 5 best educational products in 2021 on Product Hunt, and I’ve got tons of positive feedback like this one:

“I have completed the whole course and I must say it applies an awesome and unique way of teaching! The content is high-quality, too, even advanced Figma users like me can find gems inside the course! Teaching a tool inside the tool itself is simply genius.”

I realized that people love to learn by doing exercises in Figma. Learning by doing has always been the best method of acquiring practical skills in software.

In June 2022, I was lying on the beach, sipping cold beer and enjoying my vacation in sunny Greece; I thought:

Hmm, people really enjoy learning by doing short guides in Figma. Also, there are a lot of talented designers who share their knowledge on Twitter, Medium, and YouTube. I should create one place where people can teach and learn Figma from each other.

Once I returned from my vacation, I started working on the new project, and today I’m ready to share it with you. Meet GuidesLab.io!
